2008-09 Application for Scholarship
Minimum Requirements to be Considered for Scholarship*:


1. GPA must be a 3.0

2. ACT score must be a 23

3. For 2009-10, you must be attending a state public institution that grants a degree, certification, or license. Additionally, you will be eligible if you attend one of the following private institutions: Adrian College; Albion College; Baker College - Flint/Owosso; Davenport University-Eastern Region Campus; Finlandia University; Kendall College of Art and Design at Ferris State University; and University of Detroit-Mercy.

4. One immediate family member must be an active member of a labor union. This includes parents, grandparents, siblings, first aunts/uncles.

5. Must be involved in a school-related extracurricular activity.

6. A signed letter of recommendation from one of your high school teachers.

7. Submit an essay of no more than 400 words on the relevance of the labor union/movement in your life. The essay must be typed in 12 font and double-spaced.

8. Application, essay, and recommendation letter should be mailed together and must be postmarked by Thursday, April 30.

Application packets must be fully completed in order to be considered for this scholarship.
Counselor must verify academic standing by signing application.
We will be awarding at least one $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from each of the district's high schools.
