SUBJECT: Board Paid 403(b) or 457

 

Effective for the 2008/09 school year, according to the WEA Bargaining Agreement, Article XIII, paragraph 2c, the Board will contribute 1% of the teacher's Schedule A salary, (including Schedule A pay for any extra periods taught) to the 403(b) or 457 plan, whichever the teacher chooses. These monies cannot be taken in cash, but must be remitted directly to a District 403(b) Plan approved vendor or one of three 457 vendors approved by the District.

If you do not direct the District where to send your Board Paid Annuity by June 30, 2009 by completing and submitting the attached forms to the payroll department, your monies will revert back to the District. As a reminder, the company you select must be one of the 12 approved vendors as outlined in the District's Plan.

I have attached the form necessary to direct the District where to remit your monies. Please complete the highlighted sections only.

If you have any questions as to whether your vendor is currently on the district's list, please log-in to Secure Employee and select "Notice - 403(b) Changes." There you will find a list of the approved vendors along with contract information.

Along with the Salary Reduction Agreement, please read and sign the Confirmation of Request to Participate form and return it. This form is being required to be signed by all district employees as part of the plan requirements.
